Kent Valley Sets the Standard in Westmorland

Tony Jackson, Kent Valley Junior Football League Secretary said On behalf of the Kent Valley Junior Football League, I am absolutely delighted that we have become the first league in Westmorland to have achieved Charter Standard League status. I believe that achieving this award can only benefit youth football in Westmorland. Read more...

Consideration in our bad weather

It has been brought to the attention of the league that one or two home managers are not giving sufficient time to away managers of cancelled or postponed fixtures. Can we all have a bit of consideration especially for our clubs that travel a long way to fixtures just to find they are not on. It is a simple phone call to avoid this and please could it be done from now on to avoid any future disappointments. Thank you.

Your Pitches , Your Information, Your Help

If possible could all club administrators please go into their grounds and add additional information to help our guys doing the fixtures catch up on the back log. As a minimum requirement on the grounds you should have directions and the nearest hospital. Read more...

Rule 4 - Age ranges and provisions relating to players Under 16 years of age

  • A child in the age ranges Under 7-15, must not play and shall not be permitted, or encouraged to play, in a match where any other player is older or younger by 2 years or more than that person
  • A child in the age ranges Under 7-10, must not play in 11-a-side football and shall instead play mini-soccer until they attain the age for u11s football.

Kent ValleyLeague Rules (AGM changes to rule item 4)

  • Only younger age players are allowed to play in the younger "B" leagues. If a team is unable to field a team of a single age group and wishes to enter a mixed age team, this must enter the relevant older age league - motion carried.

Teams with a mixture of players from 2 age bands must therefore move up into the relevant older age band in order to compete in the Kent Valley Junior Football League.

This does not apply to players in school year 5 (under 10s). In accordance with FA Rules, in order to play 11v11 football a player must have achieved the age of 10 by 31st August 2009 in order to play in the 2009/10 season.

Similarly, players in school year 3 (under 8s) are not able to move into the under 9s league as in accordance with FA Rules, under 8s must not play competitive football.

Dallam Tower Cup

In line with FA Rules and in order to prevent players competing in fixtures against players who are 2 years older, only players in school years 8 & 9 are able to play in this competition.

Tesco U13 Cup

Teams with a mixture of year 7 & 8 players will instead will be able to play in the Tesco U13 cup

Getting Results On The Move

It's been noted that one or two of our players - mainly the younger ones - have a mobile phone which some of them use, occasionally, to send and receive texts, and to make the odd phone call.

Recognising this phenomenon, and the possibility that mobile phones may spread, who knows, even taking in our older members and supporters one day, the nice, clever people who run our website at leaguemanager.biz have introduced an all-new service.

For those of you who have any sort of reasonably up to datemobile phone, type www.kvjfl.leaguemanager.biz/mobile into your mobile's browser and you will get instant access to fixtures, results and tables.

Try it, it's free (apart from whatever your mobile phone service provider charges you to access the web) and don't forget to bookmark the address; saves all that typing.

Come On You Scribes (Where are you, where are you...)

For a while now - and possibly too long for our patient readers - I have been the only one scratching his head trying to fill the empty space on this website and it's time to spread the misery around.

All you frustrated editors, designers and composers can now put your creative genius before an expectant public. Go to News in the menu, click on Create New Pageand then click on the Help button in the top right hand corner for instructions.
